New for 2026-2027:
- We are experimenting with a new format for musicianship by combining the Keyboard Games, Music Moves Book 1 and Book 2 students into one class with students rotating in and out during a 45 minute session.
- We will be offering Early Childhood Music classes for younger siblings! If you have children not yet in formal piano lessons please join us with your children during class! This will also be combined with the Keyboard Games and Book 1 and 2 students. This is for ages 0-4!
- We will be doing a formal performance for the congregation of First Christian Church on Sunday, December 20th at 1:00 PM. Those participating in Friday Choir will be expected to participate in the performance.
- This year we have been invited to do a Lessons and Carols for the congregation of First Christian. We would like to do this performance as a thank you for them allowing us to use their space on Friday afternoons.
- For those not familiar with the Lessons and Carols tradition, it is a traditional Christian service of worship that alternates nine short Bible readings with nine Christmas carols and hymns. The most well-known Lessons and Carols is broadcast every year by the BBC from King's College Chapel, Cambridge.
- However, I want to clarify that this performance will be strictly for educational purposes and will include a mixture of secular and sacred pieces that are already culturally familiar to students. Teachers will also be performing and students may be asked to perform solo piano pieces or vocal solos as part of the performance.
- If you have any questions/concerns regarding this performance, you can reach out to me.

Friday Class Policies and Procedures
- Students are to be signed in every week by the adult dropping them off. Parents may be asked to help with the sign-in process a few times during the year. (Let me know if you’d like to volunteer!)
- Parents who stay on the premises may be asked to help guide students to each rotation to keep the flow of instruction running smoothly. (Let me know if you’d like to volunteer!)
- If students are late for a class, they may be asked to remain outside the classroom until the next rotation to avoid class disruptions.
- Siblings may have different Friday Class schedules. If a younger sibling is released earlier than an older sibling, they can find and tag along with the older sibling until Friday Classes are over or can stay with their adult if their adult is still present in the building. They should not be roaming hallways or other rooms alone!
